Transition
An update from Caitlin
The past few weeks have been a little chaotic. It’s been a time of transition as three of the six interns have left to start their after-the-summer-jobs or finish up summer classes. For the next three weeks, Erin, Ragan and I will be tying up loose ends, hopefully planning a work group, maybe working out at Habitat, and keeping up our relationships with local families we have been walking with.
Two of my good friends and coworkers (Julie and Hunter) moved out of Tuscaloosa for good this past weekend. In a month and a half I will be leaving to study in Morocco for nine months. It’s so strange to think how everything will be different once this summer is over. It is times of uncertainty like these when I learn how to lean on and trust my Savior even more. He is the only constant in my life. He is the only person who will not let me down, disappoint me, or lie to me. I am so thankful for all the rich relationships I have built this summer, but more than anything I’m thankful for growing in my relationship with the Lord.
I’m reminded of this hymn:
The church's one foundation / is Jesus Christ her Lord; / she is his new creation / by water and the Word. / From heaven he came and sought her / to be his holy bride; / with his own blood he bought her, / and for her life he died.
