Death

Merry Christmas, Day 3

by Peggy Drinkard

Today is the third day of Christmas. The feast of St. John…celebrating love. Try not to think, “Christmas is over.” Enjoy the church tradition of the 12 Days of Christmas. (admittedly, it’s hard when we are functioning in a pagan culture where business and the cha-ching of sales keep us rolling, rolling, rolling….and retailers probably begrudge even that one day…except for the $ value it gives to them on a yearly basis. But let’s do our best. “Good Christian men, rejoice!” Even twelve days cannot touch the wonder of what God has done for us in sending Christ. Let’s be radical and do our part to reform things….let’s keep celebrating…at least until Epiphany (January 6) which is the church’s tradional end of the Christmas season!
